Some guys are mortally opposed to the idea, for safety reasons. Others do it all the time. Some even use the Over Thruster. The question you have to ask yourself is, can I get out of the boat quickly, with the happy seat under my knees. If the answer is yes, go for it. I suggest trying several wet exits in a pool or flat water to test it out.
