question Have you ever looked at a rapid and thought "eventually it will take someones life".... New

not to be morbid or anything, but i had that thought this past Saturday while looking at a class II+ rapid on the Locust (one person in our group had a close call there even with great safety set up).  The rapid is double trouble, and all of the water at the end feeds directly into an undercut that has a few logs stuffed in it.  For the amount of beginners or intermediates lacking boat control that float that river, i just have a bad feeling that i will be reading about it one day.

feedback The river never "takes" a life. You offer your life when you get in the water, and sometimes the offer is accepted. rlhartman New
