The only true "park and huck" verticality that comes tom mind near denver is Coors Falls on clear creeks west branch. It's about an hour from downtown denver - on the way up to winter park. Kind of a "get out of your car and huck an 8 footer then get back in your car" thing -OR- run the gnar just downstream. I think there is info on the location in the new Whitewater of the Southern Rockies book.

If you were taking more rapid oriented hucking, and your up for it, you could drive up clear creek canyon (just out of golden) and scout out Screaming Quarter Mile, Rigomortis, the Narrows, Black Rock - all relatively short sections that can be park and "hucked" from roadside.

There's probably some stuff on the Poudre that you could check out too (narrows?), which is farther north and maybe more on your way.
