Had a great Father's Day, hope you did as well.

We did the Piegon on Saturday and then were thinking about maybe Nanty on Sunday.  Had a friend call, so we changed plans at the last second and drove over to the Chattooga.

We only had our play boats, but thought we'd still have a good time.  Brad has been in his New Shoot'n Star enough for me to feel that he was ready for a some low water Sec. IV.  Worked out well, because by the end of the day, he was doing a much better job of keeping upright in his boat, was doing flat spins and could take a drop without getting stern squirted each time.  In short, he learned a bunch and had a plast.  Boat works great as a river player at his weight of about 95lbs.

Brad was ready to try new stuff and is really advancing well.  He started off step'n it up at Bull Sluice.  He ran an amazing hard line that our friends showed him over double drop - creek line over the top of the drop.  That was his first stab at the main line.  It didn't go 100% his way, but he rolled up and was game on.

He tried a bunch of new moves at Surfer's, because we were with people that could tell him what to try.  I'm no play boater, but I'm starting to give it a go.  Brad had an amazing time.

Made it to Woodall, again, step up time.  He ran the hole nice and clean.  On down to Seven Foot and Brad enjoyed it for his second time:

His sister and mom aka SHSB, were there to cheer him on.  Down to the Five Falls and all was well.  He ran Entrance, eddied out to look at Corkscrew.  Here is where I made a big mistake.  I kind of ran more of a high water line, than a low water line.  I ended up in the river left "pocket hole" for a total beat'n.  It was ugly, but rolled up at the bottom when it got tired of chewing on me.

At that point, Brad was taking a pass for sure.  So, we went down, walked Crack.  Brad did a super cool seal launch and we were off to Jawbone.  We caught the set up eddy, Brad had seen it before, so he was ready to take it on.  Super clean line.  On down to Sockemdog, yet again another fun line and clean run.

Oh, his final new experence of the day.  Made it to the lake, Brad got to do the coolest rock jump across from the Landing.  Its about a 20 to 25 foot jump to the water.

Anyway, just a great time with super good friends.  Thanks again guys!!

Hope to see you soon.

Milton
