note River Progression New

Maybe you more seasoned paddlers can help me out.

I just got back into paddling, before all I did was playboat on the Saluda in Columbia, SC. I live in Greenville, SC and I am interested in working my way rather quickly up to class III+, IV rivers while at the same time making sure I don't make the jump to fast. I have my roll decent in a pool. Today I missed maybe 5 out of 150 and am going to try river rolls this three day weekend quite a bit.

Right now I am paddling the Nantahala a bit, but am getting bored. I would like more rapids like Pattons run. What other rivers can I step up to? Especially since it is getting colder soon.

If I have done the Nantahala, can I do the Pidgeon after the dries?

I am thinking about doing Upper Green and French Broad Section 9 if it gets a little higher, 1400 CFS.

What other rivers would you all recommend that are running in this drought?

I want to get some more wate runder my belt before I step up to Ocoee and others.

Thanks for taking your time to read this and respond. If you are interested in running some of these rivers this weekend email me. jblackshire(at)yahoo.com
