but I still think there are much better options for a next step from the Nantahala like the other runs that have already been mentioned.

Even if you walk Five Falls, you've still got some rapids with a good bit more difficulty and hazard than anything the Nanty has to offer. Woodall Shoals, Seven Foot Falls, Raven Chute, Deliverance Rock, etc. There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING on the Nantahala that compares or prepares one for these kind of rapids.

Furthermore, if you think the potholes, sieves, and undercuts are all contained within Five Falls, think again. I'm going to say it once more, sure you go down section 4 at a low level and walk 5 Falls and make it down, but that is NOT the best next step from Nantahala.

The question was not, "Am I ready for Section 4?". The question was, what is the next step and the best answer to this question does NOT include Section 4.
