Seems to me-- and granted I've been knocked up, out of the SE, and only in my boat a coupla times since then-- there's just not a "clean" path anywhere on the Lower Cheoah? Even if you put in just under the Falls, you've got a river-wide hole to navigate river right, and the West Prong line to the left probably isn't an option if you're guy's not looking for a dousing. Below that, there's the rundown to Tampoco, which isn't particularly clean, and then you're at Yard Sale.... I'm guessing you would pull just above that? If that's your route, it's hardly enough river to merit the drive.
Or are you talking the route from just below God's Dam/ Takeout area to just above Bear Creek Rapid? Even so, you've got Land of Holes to contend with, and the rest of the run in between (at least the last time I was on it) had enough brush, etc, to possibly pose a problem if this fella's still a bit shaky?
I've always thought the full Lower Ocoee (Goforth to private boater takeout, or even pull just above HellHole & PowerHouse) run was less of a challenge than Ocoee Lite anyway. Maybe that's a thought? Or opt for the Lite and call it a day. :0)
Besides, you've been around long enough to know all the answers to these questions already anyway, Louie! You old dog!! ;0)
