	it all change.  Used to be you'd go to the green/overflow/bear/insert "manky mcgnar gnar" run here and you'd run into people that would be up for a good time and not just to be seen there.  It's so funny when you read these boards and see the people strutting around and acting like they're the best thing since sliced bread.  My favorite comment I've ever heard is as follows "See that it's Leland (or Clay or insert pseudo kayak celebrity) I just want to be seen with them."  It's ridiculous.  I'd rather hang out with someone that just got off the Ocoee and had fun rather than someone who just got off the Green (and was on it to be seen) I don't mean to keep talking about the green.  It's a special place but it's turned into some sort of half ass t-shirt run.  It's like skiing in Colorado when you get some douche who want's to ski a classic mogul run just so  he/she can buy the t-shirt or pin for their Yankees hat.  It's like that with kayaking now.  A lot of these fools didn't make their high school (insert sport team here) and they've turned into 25-29 has beens and found kayaking.  Great for you guys.  Enjoy the journey.  Don't move up so hard I can't count how many people I've seen on here with their Am I ready for x run posts.  If you're not sure then you're not ready.  It's better to be more experienced and find a new run relaxing than to not have the requisite skills and be scared to death and be surprised you've survived.  I've seen some ridiculous things recently.  Swimming on Tallulah...in ridiculous places.  Keeping in mind this particular dude was in a Dragorossi Mafia (which was funny in and of itself).  I've seen people that don't have the skills to safely run the Nanty and they're running the Cheoah.  I've seen people about crap themselves running the green and they say they ran the green but they walked everything.  It's ridiculous.  If you want to kayak that's a great choice.  You can be outdoors you can hang with your friends but if you're in this sport to get attention then you're stupid.  You could be the best kayaker in the world and maybe 1000 people know who you are.  So don't do it to get attention...do it to have fun.  If you're a poseur and you know who you are quit posting on here about someone else's skills and review your own situation.  Come on.  Jim
