Hey there!
I just wanted you to know that the APEs (Appalachian Paddling Enthusiasts) have a Beginner Kayaking Clinic on May 24-25. We also schedules trips afterwards for progressively more difficult rivers. Most of our members are located in Kingsport, Johnson City, or Bristol, Tennessee. Depending on where you are in KY, it may not be too far of a drive to meet up with us. There are also roll sessions at Johnson City, TN every Tuesday along with roll sessions on Monday and Wednesday at ETSU in Johnson City.
If you'd like more information, you can give me an e-mail through BoaterTalk and I'll see if I can't get you hooked up with some people from our area or maybe we can paddle together! Just a disclaimer: It's kind of hard finding people to do class I-II during this time of the year. It seems the guys and gals who are paddling are more advanced and want to get out on the hard stuff (it's creeking season!), and the people who paddle class I-III have put away their gear and are waiting for warmer weather. (Just my observation, please don't flame me BoaterTalk!).
