	Though it doesn't happen a lot, we've definitely fought over where to go paddle -- I think we argued over one particular river for a year before I gave in :) I think you hit the nail on the head pretty much the entire post.  Having an SO that participates in the obsession  helps a lot, but doesn't solve all relationship issues.  A healthy relationship has a lot of dependancies, and sometimes it helps to have an SO that boats, sometimes it doesn't.
