sounds like you got hosed by the guide/company for sure. they should have split you guys up.

don't worry about the discrimnation thing, if you are a man and wear shorts in CR they think you're a homosexual. my wife paddles and she didn't get any vibe off the CR guides, but then again she would have cared less. they have some odd customs down there as it is, but then again we drive Hummers and eat lots of fake cheese.

like i said, i went my first time with those guys and the second time with someone else. CR really kicks ass and you should look hard at endless rivers next time. or NOC, which i think is great too.

don't know where you live, but if you like big water check out ecuador and small world adventures. if you like creeking, check out NOC's trip to panama.

however, i'd give CR another shot with another group as its got it all. i'll probably go down there another couple times in my life. place kicks ass.
