be embarassed for being a shuttle bunny? i am not a great kayaker but love MOST of the paddlers i've met, enjoy the surroundings of the rivers, mountains, etc... it is great fun for me to get-away, relax, and have fun with some awesome individuals. i paddle a few times during the year, but, as people who have shuttled with me will tell you, shuttling rocks!!
i have a great time and am secure enough in whom i am to not be offended by a term of art. i have had many "real kayakers" decide which river they were going to hit depending on which one i was shuttling. i have shuttled some incredibly impressive "real kayakers", dudes and chicks, who are appreciative of my "hobby".
why knock something just because it isn't for you?
get over your cool, non-shuttling, self.
