I just purchased a Nissan Versa with the CV transmission- obviously  not a off road shuttle vehicle, but took it from Chattanooga to the Ocoee today and also up to Prentice Cooper on Signal Mountain- smooth ride and seamless shifting, never hear it shift. It is a great ride and really feel no difference in the power (compared to a manual shift), but the car definitely has more pep than a traditional automatic. May be different for a larger vehicle, but this is my experience with a small car.
