note on kids and pregnant women paddling III/V, my opinions are unpopular. New

I'm all for kids paddling and If I was pregnant, I'd probably paddle too, but nothing strenuous- even having to roll would put undue stress on vital pelvic muscles.  I saw a pregnant woman put on Cheoah- I thought she was rather foolish.....   may not get hurt, but why risk it?  Same with kids

What kid at age 10 is capable of making his/her own decisions about safety?

Sometimes I think parents live and push their kids for their own egos. I'm certainly guilty of bragging on my kids' grades and accomplishments. I'm proud..  but...to me there's a line between pushing and pushing too hard  "look at what my kid can do"  Like Jon Benet Ramsey's parents pushed her in the direction they wanted her to go.

There's nothing wrong with pushing your children.  I push mine to make exceptional grades and get involved in things.....  shoot, I had mine rafting down the Ocoee at age 5.

I cannot control what other people do or how they live, and you can call me an overprotective mother, but I'm not setting my kids up and I pray that nothing happens to those kids that are out there on the water in their pre teens paddling IV / V

kayaking is a sport I enjoy .........  and shifting gears......  I do not like to paddle with anyone who has a bad attitude, I did a couple months ago and I remembered just how much I detest sour people. .  If you have a bad attitude (not just a bad day, but a bad attitude... ) please steer clear of me.  TIA.

Rant Over.
