responsiblity is unpopular these days. What 10 year old kid is capable of making that decision?  Maybe those who think they are capable,  want to have the age of consent lowered too. It is a weird place to be in as a parent though. When the shit hits the fan, you have the rest of your life to think the decision & the fact that was your kid. I think about it all the time. I went through a daughter paddling & now my 13 year old son. Sometimes I struggle with it. On the other hand, it is tandem boating & I am in the stern, so what he swims I swim & I don't like swimming. When I swim & I do, I prefer it to be alone.
