That means setting reasonable limits. Up to the parent, not the child.

The toughest thing is going to be letting them make enough of their own decisions so they become responsible themselves, without abdicating parental responsibility. This is not a question for anyone other than parents to decide.

My goal is just to get us all thinking about it. And at the risk of offending someone on here, I think you must be a parent to understand the true nature of the question.
