This conversation is so rediculous. I don't think anyone on this forum is going to argue that the loss of a parent, child, friend, wife, loved-one, etc isn't painful.

Why do you think you can sit on a pedastal above the rest of us on this? We're all the product of parents, we all have lost loved-ones, and we all undertand the risk of injuries and death that are associated with every aspect of life.

Smoke? Eat fatty foods? Not enough exercise? Obesity? Dangerous sports? Violations of speed limits? Turn without blinkers? Diabetic? Cancer?

God the list goes on.

What is worse than allowing a kid to run a dangerous rapid is letting him eat 2 double cheese burgers at Mc'Donalds. Childhood obesity is going to claim way more lives than all the dangerous sports/activites put together. And what do parents do? Not a damn thing.
