It is a big jump from a Slice to a current boat, takes some getting used to, but you'll never want to go back! New

RPM paddlers didn't like the Slice, ForPlay or other rodeo boats of that era, at first. There is a reason nobody paddles XXX, ForPlay, Slice, Glide, etc. etc. anymore. The benefits of a longer boat were no match for the benefits of an easier to paddle, hop off the water, do it all boat.
The Super Star, for example- the latest greatest in playboats your size, won't paddle at all like a Slice. that is good. The most common thing people do who have paddled the same boat for a really long time, is to look for a boat that does exactly what their boat did, but in a new package. There is no reason to switch if that is the goal.
The reasons to get a new boat are:
1. Break your plateau and learn new stuff.
2. improve comfort, ease of paddling, and potential.
how do you paddle a Super Star compared to a Slice? First off, until you do a loopdy doop, don't assume you won't want to do one! If you paddle a Slice, doing a loop, macho move, or any other flippy move is so hard that the best boaters didn't do them much if at all in that boat.
Also- the Slice is a great boat for front surfing around on a wave and it carves well, but isn't each to get off the water. A 4 Fun isn't a rodeo boat- it is a river runner first playboat second. while is plays awesome, you will improve your playboating the fastest in a Super Star, a full on rodeo boat.
You may be able to find a 2007 (new model) Super Star for sale somewhere. They are fairly hard to find though.
