I never really considered getting a full face until I took a paddle shaft in the face off a drop in Mexico in November, wasn't terrible, but did cause my lower teeth to puncture my lower lip.
The ablity to add a verticle face bar was the make or break point for me. Any full face is going to offer better protection than a non-full face helmet, but only the FNA verticle bar also protects your nose/face from a paddle shaft or cockpit rim off of a drop... SR, Sweet, Predetor, WRSI, etc don't.
If you don't plan to run drops, it's probally not as big a selling point.
