I am not super familiar with the FNA helmets, but have friends that totally stand by them and have found them tested and true.  But something to consider: Sweet has always put extensive research into their helmets-hence part of the rationale behind the price. There is a serious spinal injury that can occur when a head snaps back at a certain force (you can ask Sweet, they reserached it--or ask a football coach). The injury causes paralysis.  So Sweet's face guard breaks off before that impact point.  It is also why WRSI came out with a detachable face guard rather than one that is permanent--and they too did extensive research about head injuries (including work with Johns Hopkins University).   Is it going to happen? Most likely not. But would not want to be that .00001 percentage person either. It is worthwhile looking into as I have most likely left out pertinent info that would help in making an educated purchase.

feedback A paddle to the face (protectable with a face bar equiped fixed chin gaurd) is much more likely than a snapped of head. <NT> TonyRobinson New
