I wish I had realized how crappy those strings attaching the ratchets to the back band were.  My old Burn had the Syncro outfitting so that was not a problem.  I was sliding into my new Burn with the Connect 30 outfitting and tightening down at the top of Oceana when mine popped.  Not a great place to have that happen but it's better than halfway down I guess.  I now have climbing accessory cord instead.

Only thing I would say folks should try for themselves is the seat position.  I started out with mine in the middle of my first Burn and after a few weeks of paddling it there I tried it forward and liked it a lot better.  Again though I think it is a matter of personal preference so folks should try it both ways.

Something else I would add is an eight inch of foam under the center tray which stiffens up the hull quite nicely and adds to the longevity of the boat, especially when we were running low bangy Green and LRC runs last spring and summer.

I dig Lelands knee blocks too and they are the method I currently am using in my boat with only minor modifications.  I also saw this method on playak which looked interesting: http://playak.com/news.php?idd=125013159185  Might be worth a try too.

Oh and contact Pyranha if you end up with one that has the old fish style drainplug.  Those things break a bit too easily.  There is a reason they went back to the old style.

warning You definitely want to use the peel and stick or glue the foam down. You want to keep sand out from under it as the sand TonyRobinson New
