You can wash our fabric and bring it back to life, as you can with any DWR treated fabric. The main difference between PeakUK fabric and Gortex is the layers we use.

Gortex is a membrane that is microporous, it allows vapor to travel through it, but not water.

On our X3 and X4 fabric in addition to a microporous layer, we also add a hydrophillic layer. This layer attracts water, and nothing else. This layer is used to make sure only water gets into the micorporous layer so that over time the microporous layer will not clog with oils from you skin. These oils cause "dead" spots in microporous layer and over time stop the layer from working at all.

So really any good high quality fabric can be revitalized back to near its original state.

Now for the question of who has a better top, PeakUK or Kokotat, well I let you guys argue that one.
