a handful of days per year on a lake, then decide running the river would be fun, especially if it's high water. Every year, people end up hanging off tree limbs and having to be rescued off the Locust Fork during fall flooding. They honestly just have no concept of what the river will be like when you're actually in it as opposed to standing on the bank looking at it. Most people also have no concept of how powerful moving water, even flat moving water, really is, let alone what to do if you "get tumped over." |
