I think steeper stuff like Watauga and the Green, sometimes you have to simply trust your guide and run stuff blind.  Not the major drops for sure, but I think you find yourself hitting stuff "fresh" and without a good look.  Also, the amount of "drop" makes it hard sometimes to see to far down stream.
