Watts Bar doesn't start until Harriman I believe. I did some fishing just upstream of Harriman once a long time ago and had good luck. It was above the Norfolk Southern Railroad bridge that's on the main line from Oakdale.


The water quality of Crooked Fork is not a sewage problem...it's a farm runoff problem. No rain, better water quality due to no runoff. Next time you paddle Crooked Fork, look at the discharge pipe behind the sewage plant. The water coming out is cleaner than the water in the river.
