First, I'll go on record that I don't think the new tacoma is a very good truck for the dollar and the new tundra is an unmitigated disaster.
Some thoughts.
Don't go double cab. With a DC the bed is like 4.5 feet long. Shorter than a Ridgeline bed. Totally worthless bed. get the xcab with the 6 foot bed. People can sit on the jump seat just fine.
With a v6 you will get about 16 mpg and the engines have been sludging bad over the past few years
quality is good but Tacomas are stupid expensive, especially the new body style
you would be soooo much better off with the last body style, lightly used, 2wd prerunner, 4cyl and std tranny. That truck would win a lot of contests for the greatest truck ever. Only real competition would be a t100.
As a boater I can't help but recommend you look at the good wagons out there. Mazda3, VW rabbit, toyota matrix, etc. Better mileage, ride, comfort, dependability, funner, etc |
