Now, when the thing has to be junked at just over 100K miles, I hear "oh its normal for the head gasket to go.  Yeah, the fuel pumps were defective and would have been replaced for free if it had broken within the first 4 years, but since it didn't that's going to be $500.  Yeah, the transmission in those does tend to go out around 80K miles. The rear seals on those things are notorious for leaking oil and needing replaced."  Stuff like that.  I did all the scheduled maintenance on time, including the 120K mile one that cost over $1,000.  All the minor stuff that happened on the car also really added up.

It makes me real nervous when I am also hearing that the Toyota V6 is having issues.
