I don't have a trailer to try it out with, and I'm not sure how well the prius would tow.  It's very light, which might make braking an issue.

A lot of the prius' efficiency is due to its drag coefficient, which I guess is why it drops nearly 10 mpg when you compare no rack to a rack full of creekboats.  I'm not sure if the trailer would catch more or less air.
