question Good or Bad decision in changing boats. New

From: H.I.McDunnough

So...as my family has become nothing short of a small litter very rapidly, my days on the water have decreased exponentially over the last 4 years.  Before our 2 children + 2 unexpected children, I purchased a Vision 56 Bigfoot as I was looking for a cutting edge, super comfy playboat.  At that point, I felt my boating skills were fairly solid and my fear level for pushing the envelope was getting smaller by the day.  This is no longer the case - in fact, it's quite the opposite.

So, now when the stars are lined up just so, I blow the cobwebs out of the boat and get on the water (usually Class III tops these days).  I still have a good time but wonder if I wouldn't have a better time in a more forgiving, all-around boat to compensate for lack of practice and being fairly out of shape.  I have debated on hanging it up all together for awhile (until kids are able to join me - and no longer interested in just canoeing), but am not quite there yet.

I really like the Vision, but think it may be too much "performance" based on my skill level.  Would probably end up getting a Fun or something similar.

Thoughts?
