Do you take out the center pilar?
Actually, ive just messed around with the bag for a bit. I think it was twisted around upside down somehow. I got it flattend out and made a "platofrm" for my feet. After doing that, then inflating, it feels pretty good. This was barefoot, will have to try with the booties on.
The "make a pocket for your feet" thing has always thrown me off. No way, i can "make a pocket" with that bag. Ive basically used most of the beans on the bottom of the boat, then really inflate the bag for the bulkhead. Feels pretty darn good, but ill have to try it on the river. Ive had more than one occasion when rolling where the bag gets pushed to one side. I probably shouldnt be pushing with my feet so much.
Also, mine didnt come with any velcro like the instructions say. But im not sure how well that would work anyway with inflating/deflating.
