Only had it on the river for one trip, but it was a sweet three-day on the MF Feather which was a good test - everything from low volume mank to medium volume clean drops/boofs. I'm about 190 lbs and have paddled the Magnum 72 for quite a while. Wanted more space for gear for overnighters, and to float better when loade (the 72 wallowed a bit, especially on the stern rails, with gear in it). The 80 loaded paddled for me much like the 72 unloaded (pretty ideal in other words). The boat feels super stable, fast, turns on a dime. Feels like they've softened the rails on the stern, but they still engage when you need them (stuck in a hole for example). Most of the increase in size seems to be in the stern - it's a good bit longer than the 72, which gives more space for storage, and lets you keep gear loaded near the centre of the boat. Loading the boat is the same deal as the 72 - remove the backband and stuff your gear in behind. There is more room to access the stern behind the cockpit. Despite being 80 gallons the boat doesn't feel huge (unlike the Habitat 80 which when sitting in it seems to stretch away into the distance). Again, probably because most of the size increase is in the stern length. The full-size cockpit is also nice, and the seat is a good bit wider, so if you are on the "big boned" side you should find it a pretty good fit.

Biggest problem Riot seems to have is dealer support. I'm in CA, and had to get the boat shipped from NOC. There are no Riot dealers on the west coast any more. Couldn't find any from the other usual places (CKS for example) I'm glad I got the boat - suits me perfectly. But they're hard to find (unless you're in Quebec I guess).
