For the best spins, drive up a low rock till your butt sits on a rounded section of rock so the ends won't be hitting and there is less surface area to 'drag'.  Then spin with the flow - meaning if you go to the right side of the rock then spin LEFT .. that way your stern gets pushed by the water the way you are spinning and when the bow comes down, it gets pushed along too.  This way even if you fall off early you can finish the trick like a 'splat wheel' or eddy-wheel to look smooth instead of falling on your head.

Tips -
1. drive up on sloping, rounded rock till your BUTT is the only part making contact and choose one side or the other where you will 'fall off'
2.  Reverse sweep on the left side to spin left if falling off the right of the rock.
3. You can lean your body to keep your boat positioned on the peak of the rock where it will continue spinning the best, then lean towards the downward slope to initiate falling off.
4.  Finish with with a bow smash if only get 180-270 to end facing forwards and 'sell it'.

Safety:
Make sure rock is not undercut, that there are no little 'pin rocks' underneath on the side you choose where you could bow-stern pin, and look for logs broached across the rock and sticking out on the edge you pick. . .

When you are learning - if you are not ready to be upside down on the front face of the rock and then drag around either side - just pick another rock.

Have fun -
