	Even though FERC issued an EA in favor of year round boating in the chasm, the final agreement has still not been reached. More details are available at www.americanwhitewater.org/content/Article_view_articleid_30007_display_full_ . I was a participant in one of the flow studies and can testify to the unique nature of the paddling experience within the chasm. No where else I've been in the east comes close to having vertical canyon falls 20 feet apart raising straight out of the water for hundreds of feet, with the additional perk of boatable flows all summer long. Even if you live in the south (I now do), this adds an additional destination to a trip to the Beaver or Moose releases, or a quick respite from a long drive north for summer playboating or creeking in Ontario or Quebec.
