One of my gripes about all hand paddle designs is that if I need to assist others (ex. grab a lost stick), while I have no trouble getting the hand paddles off, I have to PUT THEM SOMEWHERE (usually on my skirt).
These look useful for that -- grab something while keeping them (safely) attached.
I may give these a shot, but I'm still not sure I'd use them on class III yet (I guess I'll have to buy some and try!)
On the pair of my riveraholic paddles I use the most (I have 3 pairs), I "restrung" them with a softer webbing combined with plastic cams from REI. The plastic cams allow you to easily tighten them and keep them tight, as well as instant quick releasing to take off. I've worried about the cams accidentally coming undone, but in 1 year of using them it has not happened yet. Tim -- if you are reading this, have you ever considered plastic cams? Why or why not?
