Or as I like to say - I like my danger safe.
Yeah, I get really annoyed at the loud pipes, but I get even more annoyed at the drivers that can't drive on our mtn roads and are clueless about the five cars piled up behind them. As for the accidents, think of them like someone jumping from the Ocoee onto the Green. Both "sports" require a realistic assessment of your skills and the changing conditions, and both offer a serious smack-down when you overestimate your abilities. With a bike though, I think its easier to get into trouble quickly – showroom to 90 mph in 60 seconds. I mean, hell, its a paved road and fast is FUN.
But don't group all bikers into one bunch. Like boating, there's a lot of sub groups: curzers, sport bikes, touring bikers, dirt and enduro - all have their kings of ego and their idiots and we share the river and the road with them all.
As for the guy filming the accident WTF!!! He didn't even stop. Bet he had boats on the rack and was heading to the Ocoee... |
