not trying to be a 'hype machine'. I did a clinic with an nrs rep, and he told me about an experiment they did when they were considering using eVent. They filled a waterproof drybag with air and held it underwater. They were then able to compress the bag underwater. The eVent  successfully compressed air out of the dry-bag. After they opened the bag, it was completely dry in the inside.

Someone posted a question regarding the difference between eVent and Gore-tex, and that is the major difference as far as I know. Hope everyone is having a good time on the water
