question Rivers to Paddle BEFORE the Green River Narrows. New

Forum: BoaterTalk

From: uh_hyuck

In response to my first post [http://www.boatertalk.com/forum/Boatertalk/1494912] what would the best rivers to paddle that would prepare someone for the Narrows?

So far, these have been suggested:

1.     Watauga

2.     Lower Rocky Broad

3.     Wilson Creek

4.     Section IV Chattooga

5.     North Fork French Broad

6.     West Fork French Broad

7.     The Little

8.     Lower Big Creek

9.     Tremont

10.  Russell Fork

Regardless of their motives, the Narrows will always attract paddlers.   Before I make a go of it, I would like to experience as much as I can before taking on something with such a high profile.  It would be most helpful to me, and everyone who reads this, if you can reply with the river’s name and your reason(s) for choosing it.  Thanks in advance.

P.S. – it would be great if there was a section for each river description on AW that would indicate what river(s) this would prepare one for.  It seems like a feature that would create much debate but I think the majority of paddlers would agree that it would be helpful.
