Just ordered one in "blue carbon" - Guess that's blue plastic decorated to look like carbon fiber... but a pretty color. Thought hard 'bout springing the extra $10 for wood grain plastic, but didn't figure I'd hit the fashion police patrol on many Alaskan runs. Besides, I've been wearing a white Cascade decorated with red and blue electrical tape with facemask for a long while. Functional, safe, saved my face and head several times. Just hope this is comfy, light, and solid for all day wear. Would like to try making a nose bar or two from an old stainless LL Gus safety bar. I've always liked face cages. Chin bar is nice, but it could allow a paddle blade ' cross the nose and noted above. Wonder how the Chin bar compares to cascade lacrosse style mask for teeth, chin, nose protection as well as to dgree to which the face bar impedes communication. Also looked at the VOZ skull cage to replace the trusty old cascade that hurts at the end of 7+ hour paddle.
Hope the new brain bucket gets here soon!
