question Oil Canning- How bad is it??? New

Hey everyone. I'm a newbie to the sport (only in my 2nd summer) and I'm really hoping a few of you can give me some advice about oil cannig. I looked at a used playboat today & it appeared (to me) to have some oil canning on the hull (3 separate spots looked concaved just a bit). How much would this affect the boat's/my performance on the river? Would a newbie be able to tell? Should I forget that boat immediately? I'm deciding between this older playboat (2002) and relatively new/used playboats (2006/2007), but there is obviously a HUGE price difference and I'm on a pretty tight budget, plus, this would be my first playboat. What do you think? I appreciate the advice!
