Gene has done the RF countless times at release levels and higher. Gene is a very intelligent man and in my opinion, because of his age he rarely runs the RF gorge these days. Let see if you still have the balls to run the gorge at release when you are his age. He could easily just go away and be content on running the gorge at non release, but no, he gets hammered for trying to do good things for the river. Everyone knows the reservoir always has extra water and that the corp could easily schedule more weekend releases. Gene is smart enough not to piss those guys off and jepoardize the current situation so whats the harm in trying to build a relationship with them? Gene is constantly working to improve the entire Russell Fork experience, always working to improve the water quality situation, countless river cleanups, and who do you think is responsible for getting fresh gravel on the Garden Hole road every October??? Maybe everyone should just be like you and let it be.

I'll be the first to admit I don't have the balls or skills to run the gorge at release. I've done it at lower flows and think its a blast.  If a 300cfs Friday could be worked out WITHOUT affecting the current situation then by all means why not go for it???
