.......and if by xenophobic....dragging down the community??????.....ya know what I was going to rant some more because its kind of fun when I get worked up about something I care about...............well ok maybe I'll rant a little..........Xenophobic may have not been the right word to use since Gene is not an outsider and I really enjoy showing people from all over the RF especially at lower levels.....but......Yeah I don't like people screwing with a good thing.......Gene continually presents himself as representing the paddling community to the powers that be and I know of no local boater that supports him......we have pretty much thrown our hands in the air but don't think that when he gets on BT spouting off some stupid agenda that he has come up with that myself or others aren't going to raise hell about it......the Russell Fork and Flannigan Lake does not have the capacity to guarantee releases except in the fall during the drawdown......do the math and you'll come to the same conclusions......some years that river is runnable 10 months others 6 months but it always runs quite a bit.....Somethings are just better to leave alone........TPTB screwed up Ratliff Hole by running the Ratliff's out and closing it to camping in the winter now instead of 20-30 people a weekend hanging out there's only a handful if any........I'll probably have to confront Gene tomorrow about this when I'm paddling in June and happy for what I've got to paddle on without spending a bunch of money driving.......
