phone companys treat you/me like sh*t for being so stupid to get 'locked-in' to an agreement for a specific amount of time , this has been my personal expierience from: sprint, verizon, suncom , and alltell. recent example ;while in dallas, texas with nationwide service, i had no-service, another driver from dallas with alltell had service, had 'five-barrs' (good service) when i left dallas + talked to all tell they said it-was my phone, why do i have good service in local area with allegedly bad phone?  they also said i have 2-yr contract (lied) I put up $200 deposit which they said they returned (another-lie) I bought phone @ wireless ware-house (used $60.)
sun-com  with nationwide service usually has 'emergency service only' when i wanted to-make a call, when i quit on them they put me in to credit bureau for $750.     well fuk-em !  im better-off w/o credit !
