we certainly have that each year when stuff is at flood and folks regularly run it like that. however, because our season is longer we run the same stuff at lower levels. that being said, the monday after gauleyfest they release 5k CFS and that's pretty juicy.

i'd say the west coast has the market on big water, but my point is that your season is so short that the bigger water is more a function of run-off and the timing of that, versus it being an actual regular feature. however, just taking the dynamics of snowpack run-off and the spike that ensues and you have an established pattern. since we have little to any snowpack, its hard to compare the two really.

however, the above was given the distinction as "the most ignorant thing ever posted on BT" so take it with a grain of salt.
