It cartwheels easily, is pretty fast on a wave, but is a bit edgier downriver.

It's a tradeoff for sure. The Fun is going to be better than the EZ for running stuff in control, but it is definitely harder to get the bow down, even in the new one. The Release, ZG, or Allstar will surf faster and looser than the EZ, but be a bit edgier running rapids. Of those three the friendliness probably goes Allstar > ZG > Release.

I went from an EZ to a Release and it helped me step up my playboating a lot. Now I'm in an Allstar, which is almost as good as a Release on wave, but better in a hole and a better size for me (comfier and more volume).
