Get an assortment and get strong.  If you strengthen the muscles surrounding the shoulder you are miles ahead in terms of support for the joint.
I think you work at a hospital, go to the PMR department or PT department and get them to cut you off hunks from an assortment of colors and ask them to show you the shoulder exercises.  Or just look it up online, there are tons out there.  You can do the exercises anywhere and anytime, it's portable and takes nothing to get you going.
