is a sunproof shirt. I prefer NRS Hydrosilk (sorry shameless plug) but I wore it everyday because the very last thing you want in the heat and unrelenting sun of Grand Canyon is a sunburn. Wear sunscreen, lots of it, but the sun proof rash guard is key. Oh, and on the sunscreen note, I would recommend staying away from the alcohol based sunscreens (Bull Frog) is the one that comes to mind. The alcohol combined with the dryness and heat of the desert will really dry out your skin and lead to some nasty chapped face and hands. I like to use the sunscreen with moisturizer in them.
So in summary, shorty top was awesome... if I got too hot in flatwater, I just rolled... plus motorized commerical trips will usually give you beers if you roll for them... they think it's neat.
Sunproof long sleeved rash guard (I wore the long sleeves under my shorty, sun protection and evaporative cooling on my arms was awesome), and last but not least moisturizing sunscreen.
Have an awesome trip. You'll remember it forever.
