You can hike up any of the tributaries and catch fish to keep, but the only fish you can keep out of the Middle Fork are puckermouth whitefish. All fishing must be done without bait (flies, spinners, spoons, etc.) and the hooks must be single and barbless. Here is a discussion of the issue from the outfitter I work for:
