I'm about 185, 6'. My biggest concern going in to the Jefe was the tendency that bigger displacement hull boats have to get pushed around. I think by going with the medium size, you counter act that to a degree and buy a bit of nimbleness. I love my Jefe. It was a pretty big change for me, as I had done all my creeking in a Y up to that point. Like the good man said above, the Jefe loves to rapidly change directions, but if you are prepared for this, it is a total asset. My favorite part about the boat is the way it seems to slow rapids down. It's fast where you need it to be, but it creates space between drops in a way that most other boats I've paddled don't. I think it resurfaces so smoothly that it gives you an extra second to think about your next move and then has the rapid response time to make that move very quickly. And of course the outfitting is just the shit. There's no other way to describe. I bought mine without demoing first, and I don't regret it for a second. |
