note yet another "creekboat advice requested" post New

I am an old guy who has mashed my spine too much.
I have been boating for 3 1/2 years and consider myself to be a class-IV boater.

I would appreciate the benefit of other's experience regarding boat selection.
I'm thinking of changing from a planing boat to a displacement boat.

Are displacement boats really less jarring during landings?  Can you actually
notice the difference in impact between the hull designs when you land?

I weigh 170 lb. and I was thinking that a medium sized boat (75 gallons) might land
softer than a large sized boad (80 gallons).

Do you think a 75 gallon sized displacement hull boat would be an ok sized boat for me?
I never plan to run anything harder than NC/TN/GA/AL/WV style class-IV and light class-V creeks.
Does a displacement hull boat have to be larger than an equivalent planning hull boat?

Thanks in advance for your help.

th_up The old model has basically the same bow as the new one. It's mainly the deck which has changed. Wilko New
