Hello all,
I'm a very new kayaker - only been on the river a few times. I've been offered a Perception Pirouette S and been told to name my price. It's in good condition - the woman selling it used it for about a year, then stopped kayaking. It's been sitting in storage since then. Would this be a good boat for a beginner? As I improve, I'd plan on using it as a river runner in class III/IV whitewater, primarily on the Payette River, ID). I'd hoped to be able to try playing too, but from what I've heard, the pirouette won't work at all for that.
Thoughts on the boat? Is it going to function as a decent river runner, or should I look for something newer? What will its strengths and weaknesses be? About what price do you think would be reasonable for it? I'm planning on taking it out for a test run tomorrow, but since I'll be going solo, I'll be on the Boise and won't be able to give it much of a workout.
